+ June 4: Dendê Macêdo and Friends – This world-renowned multi-instrumentalist creates innovative music with unconventional instruments he creates by hand from found objects.
+ June 11: Tokala – Merging Japanese folk, pop, and middle eastern music, this trio explores the links between different cultures.
+ June 18: Natu Camara – A blend of Afropop, rock and soul is sung in five different languages by this singer-songwriter whose fans have affectionately dubbed “The Tina Turner of Guinea.” (pictured above)
+ June 25: Yasser Tejeda – This award-winning composer, guitarist, and vocalist layers Afro-Dominican traditions with experimental blends of merengue, rock, and jazz inspiring new generations to explore their roots.
+ July 9: Combo Daguerre – These Brooklyn-based rockers create a hybrid of French songs with the psychedelic Latin influences of Boléro, Cumbia, 60s rock and French chanson.
+ July 16: Villalobos Brothers – This GRAMMY Award-winning family band delivers a virtuosic fusion of Mexican folk songs rooted in Veracruz with jazz and classical music imbued with messages of love, brotherhood, and social justice. (CANCELED DUE TO HEAT ADVISORY)
+ July 23: Luca Mundaca – Combining elements of jazz and bossa nova, this Brazilian singer-songwriter weaves together songs of longing, love, Brazil’s vibrant essence, and the human experience.
+ July 30: The Ebony Hillbillies – This old-time string band weaves together pop, jazz, bluegrass, folk and country music with fresh modern touches.
