Take a moment out of your busy day to enjoy a captivating showcase of jazz music by some of NYC’s most talented musicians. Curated by The Jazz Gallery, whose mission is to “provide a platform for emerging artists to discover their unique voice, and a home for established musicians to continue to experiment and grow,” the series will bring the intimate, vibrant atmosphere of a jazz club into the lobby of One Manhattan West.

Free to attend – no tickets required.

For the month of April, Silver Mirror Facial Bar will be at the event, offering expert skincare advice, giving out mini product samples and hosting a raffle for a chance to win a free 30-minute facial.

Under her leadership, The Jazz Gallery has come to be known as “the most imaginatively booked jazz club in NYC” (The New York Times), while becoming a three-time recipient of the Chamber Music America/ The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) Award for Adventurous Programming. Rio also received the 2016 Jazz Hero Award from the Jazz Journalists Association.  Rio was the only non-musician recipient of the Jazz Coalition commission created during the pandemic for her effort in creating the various innovative online programs to keep the jazz community connected and thriving.

Celebrate Pride – a celebration for ALL – including your pets! Bring your pup to Manhattan West Plaza on Saturday, June 8 from 12-3PM for a colorful afternoon of fabulous activities and treats. In addition, you and your pup can participate in our “Walk of Pride” catwalk contest and show your pride for a chance to win fun prizes. Festive attire for you and your furry friend is encouraged – or pick up a rainbow bandana upon your arrival. 

RSVP below on Eventbrite to receive event reminders and updates! Walk-ins are welcome and all admission to the event is based on available space. All attendees must read and SIGN THE WAIVER (1 per person) in order to attend the event. Complete the waiver ahead of time to ensure a fast check-in and receive a free collapsible water bowl upon entry, while supplies last

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES:

1:30PM: Walk of Pride Catwalk Contest – It’s “dress to impress” for proud pups and their favorite humans. You and your dog can walk the catwalk and show off your unique style and pride, for a chance to win fun prizes. Big, small, or just plain fabulous, everyone is welcome and has the chance to be proclaimed “best in show.” PRIZES will be awarded for two categories: Most Pride: Dog, and Most Pride: Prideful Pair (Dog & Human).

Ongoing (12-3PM):

+ Pup Psychic – See into your dog’s future – or past! Our psychics will perform tarot readings for your pup.

+ Pet Reiki for Healing – Have your dog experience the many powers of Reiki, from physical healing to using sources of energy to better connect with your pooch.

+ Pup-a-razzi Photo Op – Capture an Instagrammable moment as you and your pup pose alongside a variety of icons—including RuPaul, Beyonce, and Dorothy & Toto from the Wizard of Oz—among others. Guests are welcome to use their own phones to take pictures.

+ Paw-Traits of Pride – While experiencing our photo opportunity with your pup, professional photographers from SpotMyPhoto will be on hand to capture your photo. Portraits can then be accessed digitally or printed onsite.

+ Local BARK-et of Treats – What dog doesn’t love treats? Stroll our amazing doggie treats market full of organic and health-minded snacks and treats that not only support your dog’s health but also showcase NYC’s incredible community of local producers. All treats are free, while supplies last.

+ Soundtrack for the afternoon by Softee (they/them), a DJ, pop star, and actor based in Brooklyn. Also known as Nina Ross, they have been DJing and performing all over NYC, most notably at their home away from home Branded Saloon, The Sultan Room, Mercury Lounge, and Elsewhere Zone.
