Bring your dog to Manhattan West Plaza for spook-tacular canine activities, tricks AND treats in celebration of Halloween, or just come by to watch the fun! Show off you and your pup’s paw-fect costume for a chance to win prizes. Costumes are encouraged for both you and your furry friend.

FREE advanced registration on Eventbrite is recommended (link at right), but all entry is on a first-come, first-serves basis. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available. Register on Eventbrite and receive a free collapsible dog dish upon check-in.

WAIVERS:

All attendees must read and sign our WAIVER (1 per person) in order to attend the event. Please complete ahead of time to ensure faster on-site check-in!

CONTEST & ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

+ Contests – You and your furry friend can participate in any or all of our contests! The awards ceremony will take place at the end of the event. Remember, space to participate in our contests is limited. Sign up onsite at the event is on a first-come, first-served basis.

– Tricks Contest (12:30pm – limited to first 30 entries) – Have you been bragging about your dog’s adorable antics to all your friends? Now is the time to show them off. Join our tricks contest and let your dog wow us! A prize will be bestowed upon the top dog.

+ 1st Place Prize: Tickets to a show at Midnight Theatre, located at Manhattan West

+ 2nd Place Prize: $25 Manhattan West Gift Card

– Best Dog Costume (1:00pm – limited to first 50 entries) – Is your dog a strutter? More of a show-off-on-the-runway type? Bring your pup to show off their amazing costume on the runway!

+ 1st Place Prize: Gift Card for $75 to Reset by Therabody, located at Manhattan West

+ 2nd Place Prize: $25 Manhattan West Gift Card

– Best Dynamic Duo Costume Contest (1:45pm – limited to first 50 entries) – If you are really feeling the HOWL-oween spirit, make an ensemble with your dog and go for a coordinated costume prize between canine and human!

+ 1st Place Prize: Free Facial at Silver Mirror, located at Manhattan West

+ 2nd Place Prize: $25 Manhattan West Gift Card

 – This year’s EMCEE will be Jolie Dudley from Must Love Dogs and Comedy. JUDGES for the Costume and Trick Contests will include Delphine Blue, Joseph Borduin, America Hernandez, Nicolas Polanco, and Sophie Vershbow.  See full bios below.

+ Caricatures – Capture a special Howl-oween moment with a hand-drawn caricature of your dressed up dog! We’re bringing some of Coney Island’s best street artists to Manhattan West for the occasion!

+ The Haunted Dog Walk – You’ve been to haunted houses, but enter our Haunted Dog Walk . . . if you dare! This custom experience for pups and their humans will include scary and fun photo ops including a funhouse mirror . . . for dogs!

+ Biscuits & Bath Table – Stop by and participate in “tricks for a treat” in which your dog can perform a trick and receive a free puppuccino! You can also get tips from a trainer, play Dog Costume Bingo, sign up for raffle prizes, receive a gift bag, and more! Biscuits & Bath is a pet amenity space offering onsite daycare, grooming, dog walking, and training, and shuttle services to offsite veterinary care and overnight boarding. Biscuits & Bath Eugene caters exclusively to the residents of The Eugene.

+ Treats Table – Trick or treat? No need to choose between the two! Pop by for free treats for your pup!

+ DJ Mike Doelo will provide just the right soundtrack for our human and furry friends to enjoy the afternoon.

ABOUT EMCEE & JUDGES:

EMCEE:

Jolie Dudley is from Must Love Dogs and Comedy, an organization that produces public, private, and corporate dog-friendly comedy events that also raise money and awareness for animal rescue. They are on a mission to challenge the status quo of traditional comedy shows by supporting animal rescue and wellness, fostering a community of support and inclusivity, and creating space for underrepresented performers.

CONTEST JUDGES:

New York radio listeners know dog lover Delphine Blue from her years on WLIR, WBAI, Sirius XM, Jack FM and of course WFUV where she currently hosts The Whole Wide World on Friday nights. If you tune in, there’s a good chance she’s probably talking about her dog.

Joseph Borduin  is responsible for bringing The Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade to the streets of NYC. During his free time, Joseph is the director or Mr. Biscuit, a non-profit dedicated in creating and maintaining bonds between humans and their furry friends.

America Hernandez has worked with Biscuits & Bath for the past two years and is currently in the apprentice dog trainer role, where she performs behavior evaluations, onsite Train & Play sessions, and walk assessments. She also educates Biscuits & Bath associates on proper dog handling techniques and key dog behaviors.

Nicolas Polanco is also from Must Love Dogs and Comedy.

Sophie Vershbow is a freelance journalist and social media marketer living in New York City with her rescue dog, Simon. Her writing has been featured in The New York TimesEsquireNew York MagazineVogue, and beyond.

To get to Manhattan West Plaza, enter on 9th Avenue, between 31st and 33rd Streets. You can also walk to Manhattan West via the High Line – Moynihan Train Hall Connector!
